Tara Smith serves as the Grants Specialist in the Office of Sponsored Programs and Research (SPAR). She has worked in several grants offices throughout CUNY, where she was a Grants Administrator and a Grants/IRB Coordinator. As a result, she is very familiar with CUNY and RFCUNY policies and procedures. She also has experience with the Institutional Review Board.

Tara supports faculty and staff with their grants housed at the Research Foundation of CUNY. She is responsible for the I9/E-Verifying of all RF employees and other RF on-boarding procedures. She assists Principal Investigators and administrators at navigating the Research Foundation website. Serves as the consultant and resource to faculty and staff to facilitate CUNY-central research related processes i.e. summer salary, GRTI, and PSC CUNY Chairs accounts.

She is responsible for the SPAR website and conducts Post Administration workshops.

Tara holds a Masters in Public Administration, MPA and BA in Government from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
