    CUNY Conflict of Interest Policy

    What is it?
The CUNY Conflict of Interest Policy ensures that all university activities uphold the highest standards of integrity and ethics. It requires disclosure and management of any financial or personal interests that may affect a Covered Individual’s responsibilities at CUNY, particularly in research and sponsored projects.

    Why should one fill it?
Filing the CUNY Conflict of Interest disclosure is crucial to maintaining transparency and integrity in research and academic endeavors. By disclosing significant financial interests, researchers uphold the credibility, objectivity, and fairness of their work at CUNY.

    How can one complete it?
To complete the disclosure, investigators must submit the CUNY Significant Financial Interest (SFI) Disclosure Form along with relevant documentation to the college Grants Officer and the College Conflicts Officer (CCO)  [Refer to the information below for the CCO of CUNY Baruch College]:
    – At the time of submitting a grant proposal or application.
    – With annual progress reports.
    – Within 30 days of any material change in disclosed interests or acquiring new ones.
    – When new investigators join ongoing research projects at CUNY.

    Required documents include:
    – Significant Financial Interest Disclosure Form 1 [you are required to fill Form 2, only if you have answered ‘YES’ for any of the questions from 1 to 5 in Form 1]
    – Grant or contract documents related to project funding
    – Disclosure forms for intellectual property and licensing agreements if applicable
    – Any agreements pertinent to potential conflicts of interest

This process ensures that all research conducted at CUNY remains impartial, ethical, and compliant with regulatory standards.
