RF Employee Benefits
All Research Foundation employees regardless of the length of their employment or the total number of hours worked per week are entitled to statutory benefits.
Statutory benefits include:
- NYS short-term disability insurance
- Workers’ compensation
- Unemployment insurance
- FICA/Social Security
Other benefits available will vary depending on the employee’s classification, determined by information on the Personnel Action Form (PAF).

Benefits Overview
Full-Time Non-Instructional: Personnel Scheduled to work at least 35 hours per week for four months or more, paid at a biweekly rate. Overview: Comprehensive Health for Self and Family (Empire Blue Cross/Blue Shield or GHI…eligibility of health coverage begins on the first day of the month following hire date on PAF provided the employee has filled out all appropriate enrollment paperwork), Life, Disability, Retirement (TIAA and optional SRA program). Full-Time Instructional: Teaching personnel scheduled to have 12 or more contact hours per week per semester. Overview: Comprehensive Health for Self and Family (Empire Blue Cross/Blue Shield or GHI; eligibility of health coverage begins on the first day of the month following hire date on PAF provided the employee has filled out all appropriate enrollment paperwork), life, disability, retirement while on payroll (TIAA and optional SRA program.) Part-Time A Non-Instructional: Personnel scheduled to work more than 19 but less than 35 hours per week for four months or more, paid at an hourly rate.

Part-Time A Instructional: Teaching Personnel Scheduled to have 7-11 contact hours per week Overview: Health for Self while on payroll, with an option to purchase coverage for family, Retirement.
Part-Time B: Personnel scheduled to work 19 hours or less, paid at an hourly rate. Overview: Statutory Benefits
